Remove Frame From This Page
Agenda
The goal of this workshop is to define a vision for the future of a common libre software project, to agree on a common framework and to discuss concrete suggestions for the integration of as many projects as possible. For this sake presentations on current projects are made and in particular on how the authors see a united "Linux in control" future.
(If you want to make a presentation of your project, please write an email to Peter Wurmsdobler)
The meeting will take two days. The first day is mainly dedicated to presentations of projects, to learn from each other. There will be a social event that evening, too. The second day will be entirely reserved for discussions.

-
Generate a list of all known projects in the control and automation area, and find categories what functionality they offer, where there is some overlapping and some complementarity. This is a status quo analysis carried out together.
Discuss existing Standards the communitiy wants to adhere to in order to gain more acceptance and market momentum. These define the interface of the project to the industrial world.
-
Discuss and agree on a general framework, a long-term and modular design of a libre control an automation software system. Determine the modules and how they map to existing projects or to projects yet to be spawn.
-
Try to modularize some existing projects more than they are now, in order to get more easily to the critical mass of the whole.

Discuss an action plan and mile stones for the framework and for each group who wants to participate in developement of a libre control and automation software package.
